#2091 "Another great show by a band that really knows how to play those old rock'n'roll hits. The band seemed to have improved since I last saw them in the winter, in that they seem to gel together even better. Not a duff song in the whole set and it was good to hear songs like 'Rock Around With Ollie Vee' which don't seem to get played that often. I agree with other reviewers that the lead singer has the right voice for RnR and he gives 100%, as do all the band members. Also, having seen similar bands , They managed to get the sound level spot-on: not so loud that your ears are still ringing when you get home. Visually, the band also look great - although we were on the dance floor most of the night, so my review is very much based on the sound! #2091 "The gig last night in Hemel was fantastic. Authentic rockabilly sound, brilliant vocals (Gene Vincent to a T), thumping double bass, so many encores. A great repertoire of songs, most we knew, some we didn't but that didn't matter, the band were engaging, enthusiastic, professional and drew people in to dance, which in a small venue was a major achievement - what with the English reserve! We had a genuine rock and roller in our group, who saw it all first time round and he gave them the all out thumbs up. I shall watch with interest the gig schedule and make sure I am in line for tickets when they next play - you should too. (Am inspired to learn lindyhop and jive now.)
