Biography - a bit about me !
On the 11 May 1975 - The Royal Scots Pipes and Drums were number one in the UK charts with "Amazing Grace"! That’s when it all started! I was born to the world of music!
But it was 3rd August 1982 when I entered the DJ side of music. I was at the school disco and I asked the DJ if I could press the start button on the next record. Dexy´s Midnight Runners was on the wheels of steel and ready to go with "Come on Eileen". And with the push of a Button i was born into the DJ & music industry. So from the tender age of ten I have been having my hands on the turntables of time spinning through the decades of dance. Be it though now it’s all laptop and hard drive!
At the age of sixteen I bought my first Technics SL-1200 turntables and eight weeks later I had my first big gig! The Church Hall! I remember my father carrying a bread basket full of 7" vinyl and an empty crate of vimto where the insides had all been removed to allow for my exclusive 12" collection! - A great success and I was booked for the following month. The next big step was the driving licence as bookings rolled in my father was full time rodie & driver.
Over the next eleven years "Sunburst Disco’s & Decades Disco's" was the best and most wanted DJ to have at any Birthday, Engagement, Wedding or Club Theme Night! I was one of the top Mobile Dj´s in South Scotland, and employed six other top DJ's to provide the best light and sound entertainment in Dumfries and Galloway region. However due to popular demand I was soon travelling as far south as Blackpool and north as St Andrews.
Weddings are a much specialised event and I have done this for the best part of twenty years, entertaining wedding parties from 30 to 945 guests. Playing music to the rich and famous for private parties and yet still I could be seen entertaining on many weekends in local pubs and clubs around the South West Scotland area.
Between 1999 to 2004 I worked overseas with Cosmos and First Choice Holidays also within the entertainment industry. Then in 2005 I moved to companies to Gran Canaria Spain and a life of Sun, Sea, Sangria and Salsa! Well now at the age of 35 I don’t party so much as the recovery period seems to be longer each time.
