Manchester based steel band, whose players between them have over 40 years of experience playing the pan.
Specialists in Weddings, Caribbean evenings, and formal and informal
functions, Band One have played all over the country, even venturing as far
as Paris, and Barcelona.
Although the band's repertoire includes all the well known traditional
islands songs, they also play a mixture of pop, reggae, and Latin music.
The music is arranged in an innovative style, but without losing the classic
steel pan sound, with jazzy chords and improvisations adding spice to all
songs.
What makes this band unique is their versatility.
Lead by the perfect pitched jazz junkie, Francis, they manage to produce the sweetest of sounds with anything from one to six players, and hence consistently offer the right sized ensemble to suit each particular event and budget.
